What type of marketer do you need?

Pick the closest match. If you are not sure which role owns the outcome you want, choose Other and describe it — working that out is part of what we do.

Please choose a marketer type

What are you trying to achieve?

Select everything that applies. This tells us whether you need a channel operator, a builder, or someone to own the whole funnel.

Please select at least one option

How experienced should your marketer be?

Experience is the single biggest driver of rate. If you are unsure, pick the last option and we will recommend a level based on your brief.

Please choose an experience level

What budget are you comfortable with?

There is no wrong answer here. Your budget helps us narrow the talent pool so we can recommend the strongest available fit within your range, rather than sending you profiles you were never going to hire.

Most marketing engagements on Cutbound run as a monthly retainer. Switch to hourly if you would rather buy a fixed number of hours.

Please choose a budget range

If your budget has to cover ad spend or tooling as well as the person, say so here. It changes what we recommend.

How long do you need them?

Marketing rarely proves itself in a fortnight. Longer commitments also open up marketers who will not take one-off work.

Please choose an engagement length

Where should your marketer work?

Every Cutbound marketer works remotely. What matters is how much overlap you need with your own working hours, and whether they need to sell into a particular market.

Please choose a working arrangement

Tell us a little about the work.

Write a few lines, or paste a brief you already have. Whatever exists is fine — you do not need a marketing plan to start.

Useful things to include: what you sell and to whom, which channels you have already tried, what is working, and what number you are trying to move.

Please tell us a little about the work

Share a link to a Google Doc, Notion page, deck, or a landing page you want reviewed. Make sure it is viewable by anyone who has the link.

Where should we send the marketer options?

A person reads every brief that comes through here. No automated sequence, no sales call you did not ask for.

Your Budget Does Not
Have to Be a Dealbreaker.

Not every campaign needs a $95/hour strategist.

And not every campaign should be run by a $5/hour assistant.

The right marketer depends on your goal, channel, timeline, and budget — not on a price band somebody else decided for you.

Tell us what you are comfortable spending and we will help you find the strongest fit available within that range.

Why Cutbound

Why Hire Through
Cutbound?

We are not a marketplace you have to search. We are the team that does the searching for you, inside the constraints you actually have.

01

Budget-First Matching

Tell us what you can spend. We will work within your range instead of pushing you toward a retainer tier that was decided before you arrived.

02

Channel-Matched Talent

A cold email specialist and a lifecycle marketer are not interchangeable. We match on the channel that owns your outcome, not on the job title you happened to type.

03

Global Talent

Marketers across Asia, Europe, and the Americas, so you can match working hours or the market you are selling into.

04

No Marketplace Trawl

You do not search, filter, or message twenty people. You send one brief and get back options a person has already looked at.

05

Retainer or Hourly

Buy a monthly retainer if you want ongoing ownership, or hours if you want a defined piece of work. We quote whichever you prefer.

06

You Choose

We shortlist. You decide who to speak to and who to hire. Nobody is assigned to you.

How it works

Four Steps From Brief
To Marketer.

No platform to learn, no credits to buy, no inbox full of unqualified proposals.

01

Send Your Brief

Eight short questions. What you are trying to grow, which channel, what level, and what you are comfortable spending.

02

We Search

A person reads the brief and searches our network for marketers who match the channel, the level, and the budget.

03

You Get Options

Real profiles with real experience and rates. Not a pile of applications for you to sort through.

04

You Choose

Speak to whoever you want, hire whoever fits. You decide, and you keep deciding as the engagement runs.

We do not promise instant matching or a guaranteed candidate. What we promise is that a person reads your brief and comes back with honest options, including telling you when your budget and your requirement do not line up.

Who this is for

Built for Teams That Need
Marketing, Not Overhead.

Startups

You need pipeline before you need a marketing department. One good channel operator, run properly, beats five half-covered ones.

Founders

You have been doing the marketing yourself and it does not scale. Hand off the channel that eats the most of your week.

Agencies

You need specialist capacity for a client account without carrying the headcount between retainers.

SMBs

You want a marketer who is accountable for a number, not an agency invoice you cannot interrogate.

Scale-ups

You have a team but a gap: paid, lifecycle, ops. Fill the gap without a three-month search.

How to Hire a Marketer
Through Cutbound.

What to decide before you hire, and what actually moves the price.

Start My Brief →

Start with the outcome, not the job title

Most briefs that come to us open with a role: "we need a PPC person." That is a reasonable place to start, but it is rarely the useful one. The better opening is the number you are trying to move — more demos booked, a lower cost per qualified lead, a list that converts instead of just growing.

The reason is simple. The same outcome can belong to several roles. "More qualified leads" might mean a PPC specialist if your offer converts and you just need volume, a cold email specialist if you have a clear target list and no inbound, a B2B lead generation specialist if the buying cycle is long enough to need several touches, or an SEO specialist if what you actually need is demand that keeps arriving after you stop paying for it. Tell us the outcome and we will tell you which role owns it.

What actually moves the rate

Marketing rates through Cutbound range from around $5/hr to well past $95/hr, and monthly retainers from roughly $350 to $5,000 and above. Four things explain most of that spread:

  • Seniority. Someone executing a playbook you hand them costs a fraction of someone deciding what the playbook should be.
  • Channel. Technical channels — deliverability, attribution, marketing ops — carry a premium because fewer people do them well.
  • Accountability. Running campaigns is cheaper than owning a pipeline number. The second one includes the judgement calls.
  • Commitment. Longer engagements open up marketers who will not take one-off work, and often at a better rate.

Paid buys attention, organic earns it

Worth deciding early, because it changes who you hire. Paid channels — search, social, outbound — give you volume you control and results you can read within weeks, and they stop the moment the budget does. Organic channels — SEO, content, owned social — take longer to show anything and keep working after you stop spending.

Most companies need both eventually, and hiring for both at once is usually a mistake at small budgets. If you need pipeline this quarter, start with paid or outbound. If you are building something you expect to still be selling in three years, start the SEO and content work now, because the lag is the whole problem with it. Say which of those two you are in when you send the brief and we will weight the recommendation accordingly.

Retainer or hourly?

A monthly retainer buys ongoing ownership: someone whose job it is to keep a channel running, notice when it stops working, and tell you why. It suits anything continuous — paid media, lifecycle email, outbound.

Hourly suits defined pieces of work: an account audit, a migration, a campaign build, a one-off funnel fix. If you are not sure which you want, say so in the brief. We will quote whichever fits the work better, and we will tell you if you have asked for the wrong one.

Ad spend is not the same as the retainer

Worth stating plainly, because it causes more confusion than anything else on this page. The rates and retainers quoted here cover the marketer's time. Ad spend, tooling, data, and sending infrastructure sit on top and go directly to the platforms, not to us or to the marketer.

When you tell us your budget, tell us which one you mean. A $2,000 monthly budget that has to cover both the person and the ad spend leads to a completely different recommendation than $2,000 for the person alone.

You do not need a marketing plan first

You do not need a formal marketing plan, a channel strategy, or a documented ICP to hire through Cutbound. Describe what you sell, who buys it, what you have already tried, and what you want to be true in three months. Our team turns that into a requirement.

If part of what you need is someone to write the plan itself, that is a real brief too — it points at a more senior hire, and we will say so rather than quietly sending you a junior.

Be honest about what has not worked

The most useful line in any brief is the one about what you already tried and why you stopped. It tells us which channels are genuinely exhausted, which were abandoned too early, and which failed for a reason that has nothing to do with the channel — usually the offer or the targeting.

It also stops us recommending the thing you have already burned money on. If you want a second opinion on whether something was abandoned too early, put that in the brief as well.

Common questions

Hiring Marketers,
Answered.

It depends on the channel, experience level, and how much of the marketer’s week you are booking. Through Cutbound, engagements start from around $5/hr or roughly $350 per month for entry-level execution work, and run past $95/hr or $5,000 per month for strategic demand-generation talent, with most engagements landing somewhere in between. We do not publish a fixed price list, because the honest answer changes with the requirement. Tell us your range in the brief and we will show you what is realistic inside it.
In most cases we can find options within a stated budget, and that is the part of this we care about most — we do not force clients into a fixed retainer tier. What we will not do is promise that every budget has a perfect candidate for every requirement. If your range and your requirement do not line up, we will tell you what would need to change: a narrower channel focus, a different experience level, fewer hours per month, or a longer timeline.
A retainer suits ongoing ownership of a channel — paid media, lifecycle email, outbound — where someone needs to keep it running and notice when it stops working. Hourly suits defined pieces of work: an audit, a migration, a campaign build, a one-off fix. Both are available on every brief. If you are not sure, say so and we will recommend the one that fits the work.
Yes to all three. The first step of the brief covers eleven roles: SEO, PPC and paid ads, social media, content marketing, email marketing, marketing automation, cold email, lead generation, B2B lead generation, LinkedIn lead generation, and appointment setting. Eight of those have a dedicated page on this site with more detail behind them; SEO, social, and content are hired in exactly the same way but do not have their own page yet. If what you want is not on the list at all — brand, video, influencer, conversion optimisation — choose "Other" in the first step and describe it.
No. You do not need a formal marketing plan, a channel strategy, or a documented ideal customer profile to start. Describe what you sell, who buys it, what you have tried, and what you want to be true in three months. Our team turns that into a requirement before we start searching. If writing the plan is itself the job, that points at a more senior hire and we will tell you so.
Honestly, it varies by channel and we will not quote you a guaranteed timeline. Paid media can show signal within weeks because you control the volume. Outbound usually needs a month or two before reply-rate data means anything. Lifecycle email and anything compounding takes longer still. What we can do is tell you, before you hire, what a realistic first checkpoint looks like for the channel you are choosing.
Yes, and for senior talent it is often the sensible option. A fractional demand-generation lead a few days a month will do more for most companies than a full-time junior. Choose the hours or retainer level that fits in step four, and say in the brief if you want us to recommend a split.
Tell us and we will go back and look again. We do not publish a blanket replacement guarantee, because the honest handling depends on the engagement, how far in you are, and what went wrong. What we will not do is leave you to sort it out with the marketer directly.
Our network spans Asia, Europe, and the Americas, so timezone overlap is usually possible. In step six you can ask for full overlap with your working hours, a few hours of overlap, or a specific region — which matters if the marketer needs to sell into a particular market rather than just work alongside you.
Yes. Plenty of briefs need two or three people — someone generating demand, someone converting it, and someone keeping the systems tidy underneath. Describe the whole picture in the brief and we will come back with a combination rather than making you run the process three times.
You hire the person, not the account. You see who is doing the work, you choose them, and you can talk to them directly. There is no account manager layer, no minimum contract length set by us, and no bundling of services you did not ask for. If an agency is genuinely the better answer for your situation, we will say so.
