What type of developer do you need?

Pick the closest match. If your stack is not listed, choose Other and tell us in your own words.

Please choose a developer type

What are you looking to build?

Select everything that applies. This tells us whether you need a builder, a maintainer, or a specialist.

Please select at least one option

How experienced should your developer be?

Experience level is the single biggest driver of rate. If you are unsure, pick the last option and we will recommend a level based on your brief.

Please choose an experience level

What hourly budget are you comfortable with?

There is no wrong answer here. Your budget helps us narrow the talent pool so we can recommend the strongest available fit within your range, rather than sending you profiles you were never going to hire.

Please pick a budget range, or choose "I am not sure"

Many clients think in monthly retainers rather than hourly rates. Either works, and you can give us both.

How long do you need the developer?

Engagement length affects both availability and rate. Longer commitments often open up developers who will not take one-week jobs.

Please choose an engagement length

Where should the developer work?

Every Cutbound developer works remotely. What matters is how much overlap you need with your own working hours.

Please choose a working arrangement

Tell us a little about the project.

Write a few lines, or paste an existing job description, technical specification, or project brief. Whatever you already have is fine.

Useful things to include: what the product does, what already exists, what you want built first, and anything that has to integrate with it.

Please tell us a little about the project

Share a link to a Google Doc, Notion page, Figma file, or repository. Make sure the link is viewable by anyone who has it.

Where should we send the developer options?

Your Budget Does Not
Have to Be a Dealbreaker.

Not every project needs a $100/hour developer.

And not every project should be built by a $5/hour developer.

The right talent depends on your requirements, complexity, timeline, and budget — not on a price band somebody else decided for you.

Tell us what you are comfortable spending and we will help you find the strongest fit available within that range.

$5/hr
Entry-Level Development

Small, clearly specified tasks: content and template updates, simple pages, and work you can review quickly.

$12/hr
Lean Development

Template and CMS work, maintenance, bug queues, and straightforward implementation from a clear spec.

$22/hr
Experienced Developers

Independent feature work and ongoing product development with less hand-holding required.

$35/hr
Senior Developers

Complex products, integration work, and developers who can own a build rather than follow a ticket.

$60/hr
Senior Specialists

Architecture decisions, performance work, and deep expertise in one part of the stack.

$100+/hr
Expert-Level Talent

Highly specialised or mission-critical work where deep domain depth is the reason you are hiring.

These are illustrative budget tiers, not a price list or a guarantee of availability. Actual rates vary by skill, experience, location, availability, and project complexity.

Do Not See the Exact

That is the point of Cutbound. You do not need to spend hours searching through hundreds of profiles. Tell us what you are building, what skills you need, and what you want to spend. We will search our talent network and find suitable options for your requirement.

The difference

Why Hire Through
Cutbound?

We are not a marketplace you have to search. We are the team that does the searching for you, inside the constraints you actually have.

01

Budget-First Matching

Tell us what you can spend. We will work within your range instead of pushing you toward a price band that was decided before you arrived.

02

Vetted Talent

We focus on relevant skills, experience, and project fit rather than simply sending you a pile of resumes to sort through yourself.

03

Flexible Engagements

Hire for a single project, a part-time engagement, or ongoing development. The commitment matches the work, not a contract template.

04

Global Talent

Access developers across different locations and time zones, so overlap with your working hours is something you choose rather than accept.

05

One Team Behind the Hire

Cutbound helps you define the requirement and find the right fit, instead of leaving you to search through hundreds of profiles on your own.

06

Honest About Fit

If your budget and your requirement do not line up, we will tell you what would need to change rather than quietly sending the wrong people.

How it works

Four Steps From Brief
To Developer.

No platform to learn, no credits to buy, no inbox full of unqualified proposals.

01

Tell Us What You Need

Share your technology, project, experience level, budget, and timeline. Eight questions, roughly two minutes.

02

We Find the Fit

Our team reviews your requirement and searches for suitable talent across our network.

03

Review Your Options

We share relevant developer profiles based on your requirements, with the context you need to compare them.

04

Start Building

Choose your developer and get started. You decide who you work with, not an algorithm.

Turnaround depends on how specialised the requirement is and what is available at the time. We will tell you where things stand rather than promise a number we cannot hold.

Who this is for

Built for Teams That Need
Engineering, Not Overhead.

Startups

Need developers without building an entire engineering team, or the payroll that comes with it.

Small Businesses

Need reliable development without committing to a large full-time hire.

Growing Companies

Need additional engineering capacity quickly, without a three-month recruitment cycle.

Agencies

Need developers to support client projects and absorb overflow without expanding headcount.

Founders

Need someone who can turn an idea into a working product, starting from whatever exists today.

How to Hire a Developer
Through Cutbound.

The practical version. What to decide before you hire, and what actually moves the rate.

Start My Brief →

Define the requirement before the role

Most hiring goes wrong at the first step: the requirement is written as a job title instead of an outcome. "We need a React developer" is a guess. "We need someone to rebuild our checkout flow in React, working against an existing Node API, starting in three weeks" is a requirement — and it produces a completely different shortlist.

You do not need a formal job description to hire through Cutbound. Describe what exists today, what you want to be true in three months, and what has to integrate with it. Our team turns that into the technical requirement.

Choose the technology for the project, not the trend

If you already have a codebase, the stack is largely decided for you, and hiring outside it usually costs more than it saves. If you are starting fresh, the honest answer is that several stacks would work and the deciding factors are ordinary ones: what your existing team knows, how easily you can hire for it later, and what your integrations expect.

If you are unsure, say so in your brief. Recommending a stack is part of the intake, not an upsell.

How experience affects the rate

Rate tracks judgement more than typing speed. A junior developer can implement a well-specified screen. A senior developer decides how that screen should be built so the next ten are cheaper. You are paying for the decisions, and the decisions matter more when the work is ambiguous.

Location, demand for the specific skill, and how much of the developer's week you are booking all move the number too. That is why the same title can range from $5/hr to well past $100/hr without either end being wrong.

When to hire junior versus senior

Hire junior or mid-level when the work is well defined, someone on your side can review it, and the cost of a wrong architectural call is low — content sites, CMS builds, clearly specified features, maintenance, and bug queues.

Hire senior or expert when the requirement is still forming, when the system has to scale, when you are integrating with something fragile, or when there is nobody internally to catch a bad decision early. A cheaper developer on the wrong problem is the most expensive option available.

Project-based versus ongoing hiring

Project-based engagements suit work with a defined end: an MVP, a migration, a redesign, a specific integration. You get a clear scope and a clear finish line, and you are not carrying capacity you no longer need.

Ongoing engagements suit products that keep moving. Continuity is worth real money once a developer knows your codebase, and longer commitments often unlock people who will not take short jobs. If you genuinely do not know yet, start project-based and extend.

How budget shapes developer selection

Your budget does not decide whether you get help. It decides which part of the network we search and how we shape the engagement. A tighter budget often means a smaller first scope, a mid-level developer with clearer specs, or fewer hours a week for longer — all of which can work.

What we will not do is take a requirement that clearly needs senior ownership, staff it at a junior rate, and let you discover the mismatch three months in. If the numbers do not line up, we will say so and show you what would.

Why technical fit matters more than the resume

Two developers with identical stacks can be very different hires. One has shipped a multi-tenant SaaS billing system; the other has built twenty marketing sites. Both are React developers. Only one of them has already made the mistakes your project is about to make.

That is what we look for when we shortlist: not just the language, but whether the developer has met your problem before.

Why communication matters

Remote engineering succeeds or fails on written communication and predictable overlap. A developer who flags a blocker on day one is worth more than a faster one who goes quiet for a week. Decide up front how many overlapping hours you actually need — full overlap costs more, and plenty of teams do fine with three or four hours a day.

Tell us your working hours and how much overlap you want in step six of the brief. It is one of the most useful filters we have.

Already know it is a marketing problem?

Not every "we need to build something" turns out to be an engineering hire. If what you actually need is pipeline rather than product, start with our lead generation services, or hire a lead generation expert instead.

Questions

Hiring Developers,
Answered.

It depends on the skill set, experience level, location, and how much of the developer's week you are booking. Through Cutbound, engagements start from around $5/hr for entry-level, clearly specified implementation work and run past $100/hr for expert and highly specialised engineering, with most projects landing somewhere in between. We do not publish a fixed price list, because the honest answer changes with the requirement. Tell us your range in the brief and we will show you what is realistic inside it.
In most cases we can find options within a stated budget, and that is the part of this we care about most — we do not force clients into a fixed price band. What we will not do is promise that every budget has a perfect candidate for every requirement. If your range and your requirement do not line up, we will tell you what would need to change: a smaller first scope, a different experience level, fewer hours per week, or a longer timeline.
Yes. React is one of the most common requests we handle, along with Next.js, Node.js, React Native, Python, PHP, Laravel, WordPress, Flutter, AI/ML, DevOps, and full-stack engineers. If your stack is not in the list on this page, select "Other" in the first step of the brief and describe it — we search for it the same way.
Yes. Part-time engagements are common, particularly for maintenance, ongoing feature work, and teams that need senior input without a senior salary. Tell us roughly how many hours a week you have in mind and we will factor it into the shortlist, since availability for part-time work varies by developer.
Yes. One-time projects and engagements under a month are supported. Bear in mind that very short engagements narrow the pool, because some developers only take work of a certain length. If the timeline is tight, say so in your brief and we will prioritise availability alongside fit.
Yes. Long-term and ongoing engagements are often the easiest to staff well, because continuity is valuable to developers too. If you expect the work to run for six months or more, mention it — it widens the pool rather than narrowing it.
Every developer hired through Cutbound works remotely. What you get to choose is the timezone overlap: full overlap with your working hours, a few hours a day, a specific region, or no constraint at all. Step six of the brief covers this.
It depends on how specialised the requirement is and who is available when you ask. A mid-level React or WordPress developer is a very different search from a senior LLM engineer with fintech experience. We do not publish a guaranteed turnaround, because we would rather tell you honestly where the search stands than hit an arbitrary deadline with the wrong profiles.
No. Full-time, part-time, project-based, and long-term ongoing engagements are all available. Many clients start with a small defined project and expand once they have worked with the developer.
Yes, and this is a large part of what we do. You do not need a written job description or a technical specification to start. Describe the outcome you want in plain language, choose "Not sure" where you genuinely are not sure, and our team will turn it into a technical requirement before we start searching.
If a developer is not working out, tell us and we will look at alternatives from the same brief — we would rather fix a bad match than defend it. Specific replacement terms depend on the engagement you agree to, so ask us to confirm them in writing before you start rather than assuming a blanket policy.
